I was raised democratic, and I believe I still am in theory. I tend to believe in voting more for the person than the party though. I am a stout supporter of Obama and believe he is doing everything that he possibly can, considering that there is huge machine trying to do everything it can to make him fail in everyway, and everything. I live in a part of the country that is so right wing, that it seems I exist in a constant state of hopelessness. To sum it up in a short story, I frequent a small store (bargain) for a quick look at books that they get in weekly. It's amazing how many great books come through there (all for a dollar each. Recently, Obama's books showed up and one that was a compilation of all of his speeches. I bought it and enjoyed it enough that the next time I was near, I stopped and bought another to give to some friends. They were on the rack and carefully covered up with other books. Didn't think too much about it until the next time I was in and went to buy another one to give away. Buried again in a way to try to keep people from seeing them for sale. I couldn't believe it, but on reflection, wasn't really surprised. It's been more than five trips now and it has turned into a plot. I've taken to re-arranging the books myself each time, uncovering, and then inserting his throughout the three areas in the store where there are books for sale, so that it takes a real effort for them to exercise their ignorant prejudices and politics. I don't know if it's customers or store personnel, but it is obvious and consistent. I'm a little ashamed of my own actions, in that I find myself enjoying rubbing it in their faces a little too much. I guess I have to work on that. I'll try to do better.
