Trying something new..........

I was taught early on that the Democratic Party was the party of and for the common folk, of which I am. Traditionally, and I don't know why this is, but most African Americans are registered Democrats. A few years ago, I learned that the Republican Party was actually the party of the common, everyday folk. I admit that I don't know very much about politics and am not very politically saavy, but I would like to learn more and this is why I have joined this group.
